If you are using the iPhone mail client or other Apple devices using iOS to access email, then you may be seeing issues with sending or receiving email. The main issue is that the mail client cannot verify server identity. This is mainly happening in recent releases of Mac iOS 10.2x and it affects both IMAP and POP3 account types. When trying to log into the web interface, I get a "Connection to storage server failed". When using the openssl command, I can log in remotely with the a authenticate login just fine. And when I select the inbox remotely, the mailboxes are automatically generated in the user's directory. So there has to be some disconnect between roundcube and dovecot.


If you encounter errors, you can check the web server error logs at /var/log/apache2/roundcube_error.log (if you are using Apache), or /var/log/nginx/roundcube.error (if you are using Nginx.), also the Roundcube error logs in /var/www/roundcube/logs/ directory.


...saying that a file under the directory [roundcube_directory]/program/lib/Roundcube cannot be loaded, it probably means that the Roundcube library files on your server are not located under your Roundcube installation directory. In that case, you'll need to find the Roundcube library and create a soft link to make sure it appears under [roundcube_directory]/program/lib.
